THIS IS A VILLAGE GRASSROOTS EFFORT TO oppose changes to the character of this old part of The Village of Caledonia, by adding more traffic and hazards in this small village.
There will never be “enough” parking in this small village center. Businesses need to face this fact. Has been true since it was formed. Check your historical images.
Do not allow the permanent destruction of this natural, peaceful entrance to the village section of the Paul Henry Thornapple trail to happen.
OUR TRAILHEAD BEAUTY IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY people come to visit – they enjoy the natural entrance to (or exit from!) a peaceful curve they walk or ride into (or out of!)- a wonderful tunnel of beautifully full and green trees and plants, shaded sunlight and possibly some wildlife encounter for their daily walk or bike ride……
NOT A PARKING LOT…… Don’t kill the trees. They make us happy.

Why is protecting 109 E. Main Street important?
The property is a vital green space that supports local wildlife and community-wide walking and biking recreation. Serves as path to and from school for students daily.
The EYE-CANDY PLEASURE we all enjoy NOW – DAILY of entering and exiting the trail ENGULFED IN GREEN, NATURAL BEAUTY – WOULD BE FOREVER DESTROYED FOR A BUNCH OF CARS AND BUSINESS PROFITS.
What are the concerns about the proposed parking lot?
It threatens to disrupt the charm and natural environment and will
INCREASE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS, REDUCE SAFETY FOR OUR STUDENTS,
and will simply create an ugly parking lot eyesore in the village center,
REQUIRING ADDITIONAL POLICING AND MAINTENANCE and be the source of constant concern for the safety and well-being of our students and the general public.
